Oakland Educator Turns School Into Place of Learning

Dr. Ben Chavis has created a miracle of sorts in Oakland and writes about it in his new book, Crazy Like a Fox.  In 2000, Chavis took over the American Indian Public Charter School and has exploded every liberal myth about education. Chavis despises multiculturalism, and after being told by his dissertation committee to make his dissertation more politically correct, he started to question the liberal sacred cows of eduction – culture, self-esteem, bilingual ed, etc. He makes students wear uniforms and focuses on English and Math. Chavis embraces standardized tests and praises Bush’s “No Child Left Behind Act.”

On school funding, Chavis claims taxpayers have been conned for years into thinking that schools just need more money to produce better results. “The financial incentive in American is to be a failing school.”

And hiring more minority teachers isn’t the answer. Chaviz believes the political agenda of ‘We need more Indian teachers, we need more black teachers, is a racist agenda. What the kids need are great teachers, not propanda.

We all know that the Left Liberal Education establishment will try to destroy Chavis because they only want to maintain the status quo – keep stealing more money from taxpayers, while doing nothing to improve education. All the political propaganda about self-esteem, sensitivity and multiculturalism is a bunch of crap and only causes more divisinessness in the classroom, breeds class hatred, warfare, and victimhood, while doing nothing to raise the learning standards of students.

Chavis created a Student set of Ten Commandments. I’ll just share number seven with you:

“Thou shalt beware of quacks who believe in communism. Thos hast the quickest route to freedom through free market capitalism and private property ownership. Hast thou ever heard of illegal immigrants risking their lives to enter Cuba?”

Sotomayor is Nasty to Lawyers

Sotomayor is considered by her peers as having the wrong judicial temperament for the high court.  She believes in legislating policy from the bench, is a poor listener, and as a lawyer, was a lousy litigator.  Her compelling life story is no different than the story of Alberto Gonzalez, yet Democrats stonewalled and opposed his confirmation to the bench, despite his poor Latino roots, only because he was a Republican.

The Senate has a constitutional duty to vet her properly, ask probing questions and get answers as to her racially-based decisions.  She clearly does not believe the law should be color-blind.  Instead of simply pandering to Obama’s leftist, bigoted agenda, her record should be a subject of acute scrutiny by senators on both sides, particularly when her record shows that 80% of her decisions have been overturned by the court of appeals.  That’s a horrible record and one liberals don’t care to discuss or defend.

Bottom line, she’s a lousy judge, and a bigotted one, by her own admission.   With this nomination, one has to question Obama’s agenda.  He clearly does not want a judge that follows the law, but shoots from the hip and legislates from the bench.   

This horrid nomination will be a black mark on his historic (or rather hysteric) presidency.

Liberal Sheep, Castro and Chavez

Yet such is the case with Fidel Castro,” says Thomas Sowell, the brilliant economist and thinker.

And having just checked the Amazon.com Bestsellers List, the book that Chavez handed Obama — is NOWHERE to be seen on the chart. It was a 1-day curiosity phenomenon. Yet, Mark Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, continues to top the charts. So much for the Left’s love affair with Hugo Chavez.

Open Veins offers One-Sided View of Latin American History

Mark Frobose, a Spanish language author and Latin American culture expert says that “Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent” is an informative, colorful, but extremely biased view of the failures of Latin America explained through the lens of a very misleading leftist ideology.” 

While atrocities and unfairness fill the history of every country on every continent, “What is lacking in Galeano’s Open Veins of Latin America is a truly balanced historical perspective.”

 
Galeano describes America’s military and expansionist intervention in Latin America, but fails to mention American generosity in the form of economic and medical aid, student exchanges.  Nor does the author write about the oppression of Latin American governments upon their own people, like the Perons.

 
Clearly, atrocities did not begin with the arrival of the Europeans on the continent.  ”The Mayan and Aztec rituals of human sacrifice and cannibalism on a massive scale, the wholesale slaughter of entire tribes of Indians to feed their particular religion’s need for a constant flow of innocent blood, are barely mentioned in Galeano’s book.” 

Open Veins reads like a classic Marxist attack on capitalism.  However, Galeano has difficulty in making his point to vilify capitalism and glorify socialism.  He does not answer the obvious question – “How many people do you see escaping free capitalist countries like the United States to live in socialist countries like Cuba or Russia?”  None, zero, nada, zilch!

The entire world, not just the U.S., has repeatedly chosen freedom over slavery, prosperity and opportunity of capitalism over the poverty and misery of socialism.   Extreme socialist and communist governments have always failed in every country where they have existed, often leading to some of the world’s greatest atrocities and massacres such as Stalin’s murder of 20+ million of his own people and Pol Pot’s massacre of one third of his country’s population in the killing fields of Cambodia.

 
Frobose makes this poignant observation:  ”The problem with Galeano’s book is that it has an agenda, which is not to inform but rather to persuade the reader that capitalism is the cause of the problem, and that socialism is the cure. This is simply not the case, and a truly accurate study of Latin American history will clearly prove this point.”  

This economist concurs with Frobose.

Slavery is Back in America

Slavery in America is back, folks. This time, Obama-style. The Obama administration’s overreaching Tax-and-Spend policies are condemning the next generation of wage earners into tax slavery. According to economists, today’s 20-year olds will be forced to pay an additional $140,000 in taxes during their working years, JUST to pay the interest on Obama’s stimulus pork-spending bill!

Not even bothering to read the stimulus bill, our left-wing legislators passed a bill that is so laden with pork-barrel spending, despite Obama’s promise that he would not support any such spending. He lied folks, and the left-wing media, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, NY Times, and Washington Post don’t care that he’s lying to us and they will not be reporting on his lies and broken promises to the American people anytime soon. They don’t care that his policies will destroy the middle class and the next generation of wage earners. They worship his communist policies, and that’s all there’s to it. Blind obedience to the master – the sign of an obedient slave.

And while Obama dispensed crumbs to the middle class in the form of $11 a week tax cut (What a Joke!) – the left-wing media sits idly by drooling at the altar of Obama-style socialism. The drive-by media’s refusal to investigate these attacks on hard-working Americans, is a clear sign that journalism is dead in America. At one time, Americans depended on news reporters to investigate and protect us from the zealotry of over-reaching government intrusion into our lives. But it’s clear to this Economist, that these Obama zealots are nothing more than blood-thirsty zombies bent on destroying our liberties and right to property. These Obama soldiers – CNN, MSNBC, NBC, NY Times, and the Washington Post are nothing more than slavemaster and his propaganda machine.

One Russian immigrant pointed out how similar things are in America to what happened as Communism took over Russia in the name of equality and social justice.

Obama Targets Veterans as Extremists

And the drive-by media, bent on painting the “extremist” brush on our military veterans, it’s only a matter of time that all dissent will be shut up by this President and his henchwoman, Janet Napolitano. Her Department of Homeland Security released a controversial intelligence assessment. She stands by the report sent to law enforcement that lists veterans as a terrorist risk to the U.S. and defines “rightwing extremism” as including groups opposed to abortion and immigration.

So if you oppose abortion or illegal immigration, Janet’s Department can technically label you a terrorist! This is so scary, so reminiscent of Nazi Germany in the 1930s. Stalin also labeled all of his critics as enemies of the State, and swiftly imprisoned, silenced and murdered those who opposed him and his policies.

It’s coming folks – another Nazi Germany is being reborn today in the U.S. You wait and see how Obama will strip all of your rights away and continue to intrude on private enterprise and continue to steal private investment and savings from hard-working taxpayers, to pay for his criminal agenda – redistribution of other people’s wealth.

Obama Calls $11 a Week a Tax Cut

Is he joking? That’s the big tax cut we were promised? Ha, ha! The joke’s on us – the poor masses of taxpayers who voted this charlatan into office. While prices keep rising on everything, he throws out crumbs while putting chains around our necks and on the necks of our children and grandchildren – in the biggest government spending scheme in history. Our progeny will be poorer and will live shorter lives than the current generation of boomers.

Obama is the modern-day slavemaster, and he is determined to make us his slaves – to pay for his worthless government giveaway programs where reckless behavior and payment of no taxes is rewarded, while those who work hardest and save the most and pay the most in taxes are being led to the slaughter by this president. He is bent on punishing the producers of the world, the ambitious, those of us who work hard to get ahead.

Obama mistakenly believes that if you give away money to those who choose not to work or get educated by their own efforts, will somehow arise to middle class values of working hard, saving, and investing. This kind of wishful thinking only demonstrates Obama’s naivete, stupidity or plain old wishful thinking.
